Born and raised in Thornleigh, Sydney, Kirsty then moved into Surry Hills and studied the diploma of photography at Ultimo TAFE at the same time working at Blinky’s Photo Lab, Kings Cross which gave her access at the age of 19 to photographing the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras for two years running,
Through her musically talented flatmates Kirsty enjoyed photographing their bands and live gigs for Drum Media. She then moved to the UK for four years landing a job at Joe’s Basement pro-lab. After moving back to Sydney, Kirsty then furthered her career from printing to retouching & pre-press at Vision Graphics pro-lab, St Leonards.
Kirsty then studied Graphic Design at Shillington College which landed her a role as head retoucher and pre-press operator at Studio Magazines famed for Black & White Magazine. Finally outgrowing this role Kirsty moved on to Sinnott Bros with her main clients being Donna Hay, Delicious, MasterChef, Harvey Norman, & Rebel Sport.
Whilst enjoying the technical aspects of retouching, Kirsty developed a great appreciation for natural photography and avoids staged photos as much as possible - embracing the true moments of life.
Now, after taking time off to raise her two vibrant children, and making the move to Killcare on the Central Coast of NSW, Kirsty has started her own Photography & Design business,
